Nadeem Perera is a rising voice in wildlife television and one of the UK’s most exciting new wildlife presenters. With a focus on relatability and breaking down stereotypes, Nadeem has made a splash on the scene, engaging new and younger audiences with the wildlife world.
Film Work
Nadeem is quickly becoming a new face in wildlife television. He has appeared on BBC Two’s Springwatch and Winterwatch, CBBC’s One Zoo Three: Goes Wild in Britain, as well as in numerous films for BBC One’s The One Show.
Nadeem recently led an undercover investigation into the UK’s exotic pet trade for Channel 4. In Exotic Pet Trade – Exposed: UNTOLD, Nadeem goes undercover to investigate how an increasing demand for exotic pets in the UK is overwhelming animal charities.
Speaker
A gifted communicator and already much sought-after voice in the wildlife industry and beyond, Nadeem has spoken at public events for both commercial brands and charities. These include Wildscreen Film Festival, PUMA and the WWF. Nadeem is also an Ambassador for the RSPB.
Author
Nadeem uses writing to help him make sense of the world around him. In 2021, he co-authored the book Outsiders (Octopus Publishing) which is part memoir, part manifesto, but most importantly, a call-to-action to us all to reconnect to our natural environment.
YouTube
In 2024, Nadeem launched The Most Venomous, a panel discussion show exploring nature’s deadliest species.
Flock Together
In 2020, alongside Creative Director Ollie Olanipekun, Nadeem co-founded Flock Together, a birdwatching collective which aims to encourage people of colour to get outside, enjoy nature, and look after their mental health. Since its launch in 2020, the collective has become a powerful movement, inspiring young people and reshaping perceptions of who belongs in natural spaces.
In 2021, Nadeem and Ollie set up the Flock Together Academy, which provides school-aged children with a safe place to discover birding and nature.
“Nature is a universal resource. For too long, black, brown and people of colour have felt unwelcome and marginalised in spaces that should be for everyone.” Flock Together
