Vim Kumaratunga

Veterinary Ophthalmologist & TV Presenter

Vim is currently on our screens in BBC Two’s Trust Me I’m A Vet where he offers his expertise each episode as one of the presenting team.

He  is a practicing veterinary ophthalmologist in a full-time referral practice and an Advanced Practitioner of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) .

Apart from ophthalmology, Vim has expertise and interest in exotic species medicine, wildlife conservation, clinical animal behaviour and feline medicine. Vim is passionate about educating others on animal health, welfare and wildlife conservation issues. He is a born teacher.

His hobbies include competitive dancing and travel. He dreams of combing travel, scientific and cultural presenting. He is an active supporter of wildlife conservation and youth charities.

Vim was a trustee and media spokesperson for the Animal Welfare Trust of Sri Lanka. He led a campaign to inform the government on its policies on stray animals and rabies control. The campaign resulted in successful implementation of new legislation."
