Adventurer and Expedition member
Despite her small stature, Sal Montgomery is becoming increasingly renowned for her adventurous expeditions and achievements. Originally from the UK, Sal spends many months of the year taking on serious rapids and big waterfalls in her kayak and in the mountains ski touring, hiking, climbing and paragliding all over the world.
Her kayaking career began with competing on the GB Freestyle Kayaking team and led to a passion for exploring rivers in remote locations. She has now paddled some of the world’s best whitewater across Russia, Nepal, Bhutan, Chile, Argentina, America, Canada, New Zealand and Africa, as well as much of Europe.
Sal’s dedication to pushing her skills in such a physically and mentally demanding, as well as male-dominated sport has naturally led to her becoming an inspirational role-model within the outdoors and extreme sports community.
Sal is a qualified Physiotherapist and has worked across a range of environments, ranging from international sports teams and the UK’s National Health Service. Alongside this, Sal is also a kayak guide and instructor, as well as an international expedition leader for young people.
