Miranda is one of TV’s best-known factual presenters and a knowledgeable and entertaining public speaker on a wide range of historical, zoological, environmental and wildlife subjects. Miranda’s background in zoology, along with her wildlife experiences underwater as well as on land, make her popular choice as host and guest speaker for many types of organisation from the highly commercial to the educational.
As a regular reporter for the popular BBC programmes The One Show and award winning Coast, Miranda has become one of the well-known faces of natural history. She has presented How to Holiday Greener - UK for the Travel Channel, Thames Wildlife Superhighway for ITV and Country Lives for HTV. Other BBC series include History Mysteries and The Nature of Britain. Miranda also presented for Channel 4’s Wreck Detectives and is the UK front-woman of the underwater channel.tv, the new and expanding Broadband channel. As an accomplished musician, Miranda presented for this year’s BBC Proms and hosted weekend Breakfast shows for Radio 3.
Miranda writes articles for tourism and leisure and has become one of the country’s leading beach experts: last year she launched the national campaign to find the top ten British beaches for Beachcombing and this year will be a judge for the Coast Magazine awards. Miranda also writes regularly for Diver magazine and co-wrote Scuba Diving for the Dorling Kindersley Eyewitness Companions series.
A consummate public speaker, Miranda’s talks focus on her experiences of diving, wildlife and filming, as well as her involvement in environmental issues. Her recent engagements from corporate to charity include those for the NIRAH project, Sustrans, the British Sub Aqua Club, the Peterhead Fish Festival, the National Trust, the UK and Irish Dive Shows, the Royal Geographical Society, Bristol University and Durham University. Her corporate videos include those for Merck Serono, Stroud & Swindon Building Society and Stagecoach. Miranda is a patron for Dizzy Divers and the Alderney Wildlife Trust, as well as working with the Whale and Dolphin Society.
