Andy Robertshaw has recently appeared on ITV's The Alan Titchmarsh Show.
Andy Robertshaw is a military historian, author, broadcaster and trained teacher. He has established a national reputation for bringing the past to life for students and teachers alike. He is currently director of a military museum in Surrey and has worked on a major Spielberg feature film as a military advisor – this film is due for release next year.
After five years of working together on a variety of projects, Andy and archaeologist colleague Dr David Kenyon have established Battlefield Partnerships Ltd. Between them, they have more experience of Great War archaeology than any other group and can combine this with an unrivalled historical knowledge of the period and the soldiers of both sides. They are regular speakers at international conferences and authors of a number of best selling books on the events of 1914-18.
Andy and David’s television programmes have frequently examined the reality of combat in the Great War: based on more than 17 archeological projects on sites that cover the Western Front, they have built an international reputation as experts on trench warfare in the Great War. One of their series The Trench Detectives was described by the Daily Express as ‘An exciting fusion of history and archaeology’ and by The Daily Telegraph as ‘not a typical archaeological series… a compliment’.
