Equine trainer and adventurer
Emma Massingale is an equine liberty trainer and adventurer. Most recently, Emma's had her incredible two-part programme The Island Project broadcast in two parts on BBC One's The One Show giving audiences an insight into her skills as a modern day horse whisperer as she faces the challenge of taming wild horses in just one month on an uninhabited Irish island.
Emma's love for horses started at just six months old, riding Welsh mountain ponies and later joining her local pony club. She quickly grew dissatisfied with conventional training systems and decided to take a leap of faith, leaving the UK to travel and work with wild horses and some of the world’s top horsemen, as well as competing in affiliated dressage, show jumping and eventing.
In 2001, using everything she’d learnt abroad, Emma returned home to set up a training centre in Devon, quickly gaining a good reputation for starting and working with "difficult" young horses. Her incredible relationships with horses and personal ethos of ‘no reins, no rules, no limits!’ has helped Emma establish herself as one of the most innovative and exciting equine behaviour experts in the industry.
